Bimbo Oshin with the full name as “Abimbola Oshin” was born on the 24th of July, 1971 in Ondo city, Ondo State. She is a renowned Nollywood actress, writer, producer, and entrepreneur. She is the second to the last child of 8 children of Pa Olasanmi Theophilus Oshin.

Bimbo Oshin Education

She started her primary school education at the St Ann’s Primary School, Oke Agunla, Ondo State. She later relocated to Ile-Ife in Osun State, where are enrolled at the Staff School to complete her First Leaving School Certificate.

At the completion of primary education, she again relocated to Lagos State, where she had her secondary school education at the Girls Academy, Sandgrouse, Lagos Island.

She bagged her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State.

Bimbo Oshin Career

Her acting career started in 1996 when she enrolled in the Ara Osan Theatre Group owned by Razak Ajao popularly known as “Pefun Ele”. She was opportune to work and train under the like of Yinka Quadri and Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo).

In 1997, she featured in her first Yoruba movie in the movie titled: “Akobi”

in 2001, she featured in one of Wale Adenuga’s Super Story television series titled: “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!”, she co-starred with the like of Bukky Wright, Sola Sobowale (Toyin Tomato), Jide Kosoko, and Antar Laniyan.

In 2003, Bimbo Oshin produced her first Yoruba movie titled: “Eji Owuro”, soundtrack by Sola Allyson Obaniyi. The movie was highly successful particularly the soundtrack, the song was later released in an album.

In 2012, she featured in a lead role in the Yoruba blockbuster movie titled: “Omo Elemosho”, directed by Adebayo Tijani and produced by Yewande Adekoya. The movie has some notable Yoruba superstars like Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero), Fausat Balogun (Madam Saje), Muyiwa Ademola, and Toyin Abraham. The movie got 5 award nominations at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

As an entrepreneur, she is the owner of the clothing outfit named “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin”.
