Nollywood veteran actor Jide Kosoko has been in the news over the last couple of hours. The first was when the veteran actor came in support of his daughter and actress Temiloluwa Kosoko against trolls.
The whole drama began on social media during the weekend when Temiloluwa Kosoko, who is the youngest daughter of the thespian and late actress, Henrietta Kosoko joined the ongoing #NobodyLikesWomen trend started by Simi on social media.
Temiloluwa Kosoko used the opportunity to reveal how numerous critics have continued to disregard her acting prowess mainly because of her father’s influence.
The upcoming actress shared a photo on her Instagram page with a caption alluding to derogatory words from critics as she wrote, ‘She no get talent, she is just enjoying her father’s grace.’
In another report, Prince Jide Kosoko stressed that President Mohammadu Buhari is not corrupt.
The veteran actor disclosed that he doesn’t regret campaigning for President Buhari in 2015 but stated that he’s disappointed in some of the actions of the President.
Jide Kosoko went on to say Nigerians are just doing trial and error when it comes to choosing the President.
The Nollywood star recent statement has, however, been received with mixed reactions on and off social media.

Jide Kosoko was born on January 12, 1954, in the Lagos Island area of Lagos state to a royal family, which is why he is known as Prince Jide Kosoko. However, no information about his parents or siblings is provided.

Prince Jide Kosoko was born on January 12, 1954, to the Lagos Island royal family of Kosoko. He grew up in Ebute Metta, Lagos, and studied Business Administration at Yaba College of Education. Jide studied Performing Arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, when he was 60 years old.

Kosoko was one of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners’ founding members. He joined the late Hubert Ogunde’s executive committee. In 1992, he produced the Nollywood film Asiri Nla. He has appeared in a number of Nollywood films in both English and Yoruba.
